A new book by the author Garrett Graff "Raven Rock: The Story of the U.S. Government's Secret Plan to Save Itself-While the Rest of Us Die" goes down the rabbit hole of government bureaucracy. One of the most interesting bits to me was the fact that the Federal Reserve needed 2 Billion dollars in cash( roughly 2 months worth of government funding in the 70's). So they used money nobody wanted, the $2 Dollar Bill. I can't imaging how many pallets of cash would make 2 Billion dollars in small denomination, but here's a picture!
This is 1 Billion in $100 Bills! Multiply this by 50!
Here's a link for more info on the book at npr.org.
