This all has a chance of working as long as USD is the world's main reserve currency. If that changes, or drops significantly, then digitally producing dollars isn't going to get us out of the major financial storm that's going to consume us and most of the world.
We've had different markets crash, different segments of the economy fail, but we've not had the dollar devalue like other places. That's what this is all leading to, though. There are already moves being made by other countries to hedge against the downfall of the dollar.
This, in my opinion, is what happens when a private bank entity is left in charge of financial policy. How do banks make money? By lending. What has the US government been doing for generations now. Borrowing.
Unfortunately, when the government can't pay back what's owed, it won't be the government, it will be the citizens, and all their savings, investments, and property that will be confiscated and used to pay towards the debt. It will probably include a good chunk of the western United States, too, since much of it is owned by the federal government. The U.S. will cease to exist as we know it.
Get out indeed. I just hope they can't find a way to touch the crypto. Unfortunately, superior force has a way of taking what it wants.
