The universal basic income seeks to extend the agony of this decadent economic system. There is more debt than printed money and the only way to sustain this is by giving charity to 99% of the population. Think about it, basic income will quickly return to the pockets of the corporatocracy. What is certain is that, to this day, basic income is the lesser evil that can alleviate some of the hunger, violence, and despair that is already lived.
The way things work in our society is as follows: the powerful supports everything that is "democratizable" (gender equality, animal care, freedom of expression, etc.) as long as they do not have to democratize wealth. That is the only thing they are not going to support, and in the case of basic income what they are looking for, in the long run, is to extract more wealth.
We live in a time where young people of the "middle class" have to borrow for 5 or 10 years to study, with the promise of a job that will hopefully pay their debts. Where it is not wrong to buy a car for 7 or 10 years, which will be unusable at the end of that term; or that the fact of paying the mortgage for 20 or 40 years, and having the credit cards just about to burst is normal. Making a parenthesis, I think that if we wanted to give meaning to the concept of class, the middle class should be called class just about to be poor, because it is disappearing.
I do not think basic income has a real positive impact. Especially considering that automation through artificial intelligence will replace and exceed us all; Doctors, engineers, mothers, fathers, actors, etc. Logically, if everything is going to be able to be replaced by technology, probably the only income will end up being the basic income we are discussing now. Then we will buy and barely live with this basic income and the corporatocracy will keep us at bay with small increases whenever things get violent.
What do you think? Do you think basic income will really help us?
As far as I understand the current central banking system, it has been hijacked by the 1%. By definition money is suppose to be an accepted medium of exchange that has the quality of storing value over long periods of time. Today, all government currencies are fiat. They surely facilitate transactions but keep on leaking out value.
We have been putting in our efforts and offering our skills and specializations in exchange for worthless papers with mere digits printed on them.
The worst part about this is that majority of the people lack awareness about how theyre getting robbed everytime the governmemt extends the money supply. Also knowledge about the central banking system is purposely limited or even suppressed in the education system.
We need to get back to sound money backed up with real wealth and keep an inelastic money supply to get rid of this debt crisis which we arent even responsible for.
It's certainly a really interesting idea!
You mean the basic income or my post? :)
