How to lose $200 in a month just to learn a life lesson?

People like to evolve, grow but unfortunately, this evolution happens during our darkest hours. When we are doing well, we become brave, and when we are feeling brave, we do stupid things because we think we are unbeatable.
Until…

Do you know the Law of Gravity? Well, the only thing you should know about it is that landing is always, and I mean it, always. That is also how the majority of people who play poker or bet online feel.
Platforms, casinos, and online poker rooms are made to get the money from you. Of, course you are going to win for a while. They lure you with a lot of free ˝goodies˝, but everything that has been given to you, and then some more usually stays in the House. Let´s face it that is how they make money, so you better, believe they will use every possible trick in the book to secure their income. We are talking about covering all aspects from human behavior to software technology. I am not talking about scamming people, but they just know their business. When we speak of money and desire for a quick or easy earning, people tend to get very predictable. You deposit a small amount, play, win a few games, lose a lot, win a little, lose a lot… The circle goes on and on until you are economically and mentally dried out.
Make no mistake; you will not get rich by playing online games/betting, relying solely on good Luck. Well, here is no such thing as ˝good Luck˝ in this line of work. There is no way you will succeed unless you devote yourself a 100% to this thing, and even then, only top few percent make it, and the rest of players fail completely.
So, here we are. Time to face the failure. After one month of intense playing, what is my result? Not good. I lost 200 €; a lot more if I count the winnings in between. Believe it or not, this outcome has been expected. But what I wanted to observe were the feelings and reactions of this failure.
A crazy roller-coaster with the whole pallet of feelings included. You start playing with such a joy and high expectations. Everything is shiny, beautiful and there is always a chance to win a lot of money. But there is also one other thing that comes with winning – success, pride, and power. You really feel good when you win. You did it. You were better than the others. You are the hero, the King of the world! Great! Now you won, and you can do anything you like. So you decide to play some more.

STRIKE ONE!

The story continues…
However, now it is time for a reality check. You become greedy and careless because you think to yourself: ˝Piece of cake I will succeed in no time, whatsoever. ˝ Wrong again! You rely on ˝good Luck˝ more, and more. The game changes, you are starting to change. Your mind is playing tricks on you, and the hole is getting deeper and deeper. The scenario that has been seen so many times before, but this is your life, and all, of those other stories, will not mean a thing to you.

STRIKE TWO!

By the end of the month, I was already struggling a lot. The money was gone. All the things I could have bought for that money! Gone! The time I had wasted on this which could have been used for better, more efficient things, and most of all the mental downfall. The complete meltdown, I had experienced due to never-ending winning/losing sequence. During this month, I had learned that one of the worst things was crushed hope. And online poker or betting will do that to you over, and over again. Playing with fire usually does not end well.
But the real question is – Why would YOU do this to yourself?

STRIKE THREE – AND YOU ARE OUT!
The feelings of total entrapment and hopelessness are overwhelming and devastating. The moment when you realize what you had done, and that there is no way back. That is the ultimate manifestation of failure. The stupid mistake you just cannot fix anymore. After some dwelling and feeling sorry for myself I began to see the whole picture. It is better to fail now and learn from it than later when things just might have gotten out of control.
It was a risky challenge, but one I do not want to repeat. Ever!

MY, CONCLUSION

The race for a quick buck is pointless. There is no way one could cherish that. But a truly earned buck and all the emotions, the effort that comes with it – that is entirely different story. Earning money by making others happy is far more powerful and satisfying than taking money from them and making them miserable.
You know the expression ˝Kharma is a b…˝, don´t you? Well, I agree completely. Make sure you separate your work from your addictions, find your thing and pursue it with all your passion. Use your brain or even better, use your heart.
