Steemit is like mining for gold. You have to classify it first, and we're all doing that right now.

People need to see this. It explains what's happening.  Well this secret is like mining for gold.

Steemit has its grand opening on July 4, 2016, and people got paid handsomely for their posts.

The rush was on...   People bought STEEM without reallying knowing what to expect. The trading skyrocketed.  People powered up.  No one wanted to power down.

The spammers and scammers ran as fast as they could to steemit to be part of it.

Then what happened?

There was a consolidation. An awakening.  Steemit is here to stay, and only the strong will survive.

This seems like a secret, but I think it is obvious.

Your posts have to be good to get paid well.  You also have to build up a decent amount of real followers to go anywhere. You have to curate and comment, and participate to get noticed.

If you want the community to recognize who you are, and what you write, you have to be "out there". This is why @stellabelle did youtube interviews, she writes a lot, she curates. She's in chat.  She's everywhere.  People talk to her, they talk about her, and she's known.

In my example, she's like gold that got classified this way, because of her time, effort, talent, and her appreciation by the steemit community for all of it.

That's why she became a whale.

Now the market price dove recently. The same people that want to hitch their wagon to the free ride into riches are finding steemit requires a huge amount of time and effort to get noticed like @stellabelle.

GOOD.

Novice traders that didn't care to do research on steem, or gauge charts, or have faith in what Dan & Ned are doing in the long term, have given up.  That lowers the price.

GOOD.

People who got paid big bucks early on for their posts, when steemit was new, who might have gotten paid too much, are powering down. They want to sell as much as they can and leave themself with no steem power.

GOOD.

What the smoke and dust clears and settles... this is what you're more likely to see:

1) More quality authors, who don't mind expending huge amounts of energy, not just writing stories, but also promoting their work

2) More stable traders, who will buy up the lows and stabilize the value of STEEM

3) Less spammers and scammers, and reposters, who want to be lazy, and try and get paid for low value content.

This is all part of the gold panning / gold classification procedure, that is built into the design and forecasts by Dan & Ned.  It seems like I'm putting words in their mouth, but I am really not.

I can do that, because I can see it.  It's obvious.  You just have to look for it, and I have.

So steemit is going through it's gold classification stage right now.  In the near future, we're going to find that gold because it is on the horizon and if you're smart, you'll see it too.

Please link, share, vote so we can quell some of the fears people have been having lately.

I still do not see what would motivate an unpassionate investor to buy. Not talking about crypto idealists here. You can't expect them to simply pay because they like that some anarchists are getting money for their content.

Good post! I'll be linking to this as a reply when I see the posts of Steemit heading towards doom and gloom. I think it's spot on 😀

Thanks for these great insights! I am one that really takes time and energy to produce and promote my content. Slowly I am building up my follower list. I hope to be like stellabelle so recognized and appreciated by all in the community.

You have a great blog bitcoiner. Your howto animated demonstrations are really good like the one you did today.

Thanks for the compliments @intelliguy!

I'm not looking for riches, but for something reliable and sustainable that will reward my work. I hope you're right and that I'm not alone in that.

I don't hope. I see the writing on the wall. It's obvious, and I didn't want it to be my own little secret, so I shared.

An early fear I have is the trash will upvote the trash and the trash will prevail. Just go to any you tube comment section there is maybe 1 good post for every 100 crappy ones... I hope Steem pulls through.

Everyone has early fears. This post should help quell some of them. Just look at the logic.

Good post I completely support you

Shoot, I'm not asking for nuggets. Just a little color in the pan would be nice.

This makes a ton of sense. Thank you for sharing.
