Where should I put my money?

in #money7 years ago

People are always looking for the secret formula of how and where to invest their money.

Nowadays, the income from a Youtube channel, a blog, affiliate links, book royalties and a rental property can add up to a pretty penny but where you end up putting that money can ultimately affect which tax bracket you end up in.

If you believe in the old saying "The house always wins" then it could be more profitable to invest in the proverbial house rather than consistently bet against it.

This is a quick look at the old school diversified portfolio of the super rich.

18% Hedge Funds
18% US Equity
14% Global Equity
10% Private Equity
10% Taxable Bond
7% Muni Bond
7% Cash
6% Real Estate
5% Commodities
2% Venture Capital
2% Direct Investment
1% Other

This all may seem a bit antiquated in the new DIY digital realm we find ourselves in but this formula of percentages can be very easily applied a variety of assets and how you balance a portfolio.

But hey, you could throw caution to the wind, let it ride, go all in on the next ICO then fly to Vegas and enter a poker tournament.
It's your money, your life so do what you want and pay for it later. Right?
