Steemit Steemers and their network
There is no doubt that there are some network of people in the steemit community that grouped together to ensure each other posting are rewarded highly. This is not about the quality of their contents, but more about strategic moves in maximising their earning potentials, especially at this early stage in the life of steemit. This being that overtime rewards may be more harder to attain and by building up of steem power, this will enable them to remain large earnings in time to come.
There is nothing wrong in create a network of people based a common goals and interested, but such interest and common purposes must contribute to diversity in postings that is consistent with quality contribution, hence the incomes being fair. Diversity must be at the heart of steemit for it to sustainability and growth and a social media platform where people want to be.
I could see Steemit growing rapidly if networking opportunities was a built in future . This being able to recruiting friends to the platform through referral and incentive for referrals. On second thought may be the creators of steemit wanted the platform to growth organically rather than dynamic.
Diversity and Quality in Content
Steemit is a wonderful platform, it is unique and innovative, however on analysing the posting, you will have notice that the posting that get the highest share of rewards tend those about steemit and steem. There is nothing wrong in promoting and marketing Steemit has the best social media platform, but the rewards that attributed steem is so much more than to that of have other contents. This can stifle diversity in contents as newcomers to the platform will feel that they must post articles relating to Steem and steemit in order to earn.
To write good articles for posting, can take a significant amount of time and effort and if those effort become less rewarding, there will be the temptation for steemers to write articles of little values, if they feel that those with little values in contents are better rewarded. The blockchain system at the heart of steem, must be configured in a way that can identify quality in contents and attribute some of the rewards based on quality in contents. I am sure many Steemers like myself would love the growth of steemit, not only be about the financial rewards, but about the diversity and quality of its contents.
Conclusion
As steemers, we see great potential in Steemit Social Media platform and in Steem as the reward. There is no doubt that Steemit has the potential to be a huge social platform that overtime, will challenge the like of Facebook and other similar social media platform in being the platform of choice, known for both diversity and quality in contents
I think it's natural that most of the posts are going to be about Steemit or Steemit related, it's a pretty exciting platform and time.
As a newcomer who loves to read and missed relevant social media, I find myself reading primarily articles that help me better understand Steemit and let's be honest, I had to do a bit of reading/watching (still am) to wrap my head around the payout part.
In five years, we'll still be talking about Steemit :)
True, steemit is pretty exciting and is the best platform, but the rewards system need to also reflect diversity and quality, so to encourage good contents at all times.
It'll get there. In the meantime, enjoy the awesome new platform and keep putting out articles that make people think and comment like this one did :) Steemit broke me out of my social media freeze out, so that alone has been worth it, rewards or no rewards
Agreed. How do you think we should bring the social media user's over the steemit? I personally feel like it is a no brainer once the word gets out. And not only diversity and quality content, but also rewards for the people who are trying instead of paying for the corporations. Thanks!
