I never really thought about it that way, I always just assumed you needed a lot of money cash...thanks!

I agree, i don't spend on stuff i don't need, we also own our flat and it is small but comfy and near train station, airport and only a 15 minute train commute from the city center. If i would live one train stop closer to the city, the price for the same flat goes up with 100k € Because we don't spend money on stupid stuff, we splurge once a month or in a good month twice and we are more than happy. When we retire (not waiting until we are 60)we are not staying here but keeping the flat and move to southern EU where life is cheaper and slower. Was a dive instructor in Egypt for years, living in mini flat not spending anything cause there was nothing to spend on, except a beer here and there, maybe a meal in a restaurant. You learn to value life much more without all the useless crap you collect. I am not a millionaire and never will be, but feel safer than my friends with their loans for the Mercedes and the plastic wife. :D
