With the dollar as the world reserve currency, the USA has more economic influence on the world than the economic influence of the US Army has. I think the real question is what will happen with the army when the economic soft power of the USA declines and shifts to East Asia. Will the US Army try to protect it's economic interest in the world, by using the real 'hard power' of the US Army?
