i watch the world go up in materialistic flames often times.
core focus is on the dollar, the fancy car, that new iphone, etc.
what happened to the sense of community and pure human connection/rapport?
it appears that much of the world thrives off of greed and materialism

but why is this?
30 years ago there was materialism and fiscal squander, but it's even more prevalent in this era
perhaps it's due to being force-fed mass programming? perhaps it's our digital/connected age creating vehicles which make excess and binging all too easy and accessible?
in my world money is a tool, nothing more. certainly it will pay for a vehicle, new computer, or food that expands my waistline. but that's where i stops.
certainly i get the itch for the latest and greatest like most. but in the last couple of years i have realized that money is a transient illusion at best and should be leveraged to achieve your goals, not create more.
i hope to share some positivity on minimalism vs materialism in upcoming posts.
until then, save your pennies. that porsche can wait.
