RE: A Poker Paradox: Sometimes Winning Can Hurt More Than Losing

in #money8 years ago

A good read. I am not really an expert yet but I believe the Dunner Krugger Effect definitely plays out to be true with me for poker. I am still building confidence but after realizing how many numbers I had to learn to truly be effective it was hard to feel confident at all. Keep up the good work!

Yup, when someone goes from a losing player to a winning player, even in soft games, the confidence over inflates. I was still a relatively great player, everyone was pretty weak at the time compared to now, but we all had so much room to improve and played so poorly. Now I play much closer to optimal and have so much doubt. The human brain is so weird
