I talk now for my self, but I would never retire at your age. Also, mabye the best solution is that your wife gets a job, the same thing happend to my mother as it did to your wife. And now, at her age of 43 says that she is sad she didn't work more in her life. Not because of the money, just because life habbits.
And also people are more satisfied and happy with their life when they work
