Recently, I joined @juliank's 30-Day Challenge. I believe that it is a great way to start engaging here on Steemit and discipline myself to create good posts daily.
So I'm accepting the challenge! Day 1, here I go.
Looks can be deceiving. There are some who 'looks' rich but doesn't really have any money. While there are some who are rich but stays simple and humble.
It's better to be perceived as poor but lives in financial freedom than be perceived as rich but lives in financial burden.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't look good or dress up nice, but that we should make sure that we can really afford it. We should make sure that we are living within our means and not beyond it. It's hard to fake being rich and harder to keep up with their standards.
It's not bad to dream, but being envy and competent is a different matter. We show the other side of reality. Sometimes, we are too conscious of what others think of us. And the result? We end up boasting it.
This shouldn't happen. We don't need to please everybody. We don't have to be envy nor compare ourselves with others. It will only make our lives miserable and complicated.
We should learn to be content. Of course, we can dream. However, we should know what really motivates us to do so. Is this to boast what you have? Do you really have to prove it? If this is your desire, then we have a problem.
However, if you want to truly enjoy life, enjoy the fruits of your labor, and live in financial freedom, then there's nothing wrong with it.
Life is simple. Let us not complicate it.
If You Can't Afford It, Don't Buy It
Don't get a loan and don't force yourself to buy it if you can't. Live within your means and adjust your lifestyle based on your income and not the other way around.
Be Content
Don't compare.
Stop saying...
Why don't I have it?
Why are they rich and I'm not?
What about me?
Let's not pity ourselves. If we stop looking for what we don't have, we will see something we have that others don't.
Be Grateful
Learn how to be grateful for what we have. Let us always find ways to be thankful. It will make a difference if we will train ourselves to focus on the brighter side, rather than on the dark side.
