Before more and more people started to make their own blogs with the urge to apply for AdSense to monetize their websites.
I have seen people started with free hosting sites like wordpress and blogspot with full of AdSense ads that confuses readers as they try to bombard the page with ads for readers to accidentally click on these ads.
I have seen websites advertised from PTC sites or micro jobs asking for its viewers to click on their ads to stay for a couple of minutes before they get paid or rewarded by doing such tasks.
More people try to cheat the system as I do not understand how a certain blog is approved by Google Adsense with just few articles or posts made without even being a 6 months old blog and it doesn't make sense at all as I can not either consider it a blog with rich content or a quality website just by posting some kind of updates on music stuffs.
I also came across with a blog with Google Adsense just by posting daily charts without substantial captions and explanations what the chart really means.
But time flies, things change with the emergence of cryptocurrency as more and more forums, or social media platform like Steemit, Adzbuzz started to reward its authors by posting relevant articles for readers and get the chance to earn from up-votes and from publisher's pool respectively.
Authors and writers are now trying to shift from making their own blogs or websites but instead they now write articles and posts from these platforms powered by block chain technology having their own cryptocurrency as payout.
Well there are still those who never leave their comfort zones and still continue with their own blogs or sites since they have more control plus with the earnings they get not only from AdSense but with other affiliate programs as well.
The only problem is with the advent of ad blockers people promoting ads like AdSense are affected from such software or extensions from browsers, since I must admit its too annoying seeing those irrelevant ads from AdSense that has nothing to do with the blog itself.
Say bloggers have a quality content, quality website, lots or I may say tons of traffic and the right keywords, SEO etc if most of the readers or viewers have installed ad blockers thus authors won't benefit from their ads.
Aside from too many clutters you see from a particular blog or website, people easily search for other sites/forums where they can get info for what they are looking for with no ads/less ads like on bitcointalk, reddit, BeerMoneyForum , Steemit or even from Facebook and Twitter etc on how to make money online or other stuffs.
With these, people started to look for alternatives to monetize their blogs or simply join forums and earn from signature campaigns, and paid to post platforms etc.
The only cons so far that I can think of since you don't own the site (no control) where you post your articles, is the guaranty if you will be paid from your efforts once the site closed down as I have heard some paid to post sites as well have already out of the scene.
As time goes by, Google AdSense also are implying stricter rules/policies as most of those who try to apply get rejected, funny thing is I can still remember when I made my own blog kept updating my posts and never shared my blog to traffic exchange sites but used Facebook and Twitter I got rejected for having invalid traffic. lol
I created my very first blog since 2013 but every time I applied for AdSense I always got rejected so I tried to forget applying for one and instead looked for alternative ways like Adf.ly links and so far I earned some for the past two years but it would have been best if I tried AdSense since most bloggers and tutorials I read online recommend Google AdSense.
I also have read old AdSense users being suspended and have no chance to appeal to have their account back and which of course include their earnings as it will be paid back to its advertisers and they just received some message from Google AdSense that their account got suspended due to invalid activity without any further details of what kind of activity they got into.
Also there are reports that Google will implement some changes on Youtube monetization program where it will be manually filtered out for videos to get ads.
With all the limits and new policies that little by little will drive authors and writers not to use AdSense and look for other means that can benefit them in the long run will only definitely lessen its supporters.
With competition from other platforms like I mentioned above where writers being paid from posting without the worry of any ads to advertise but simply requires them to write and post articles and with great loss from advertisers due to ad blockers will still people consider Google AdSense as reliable source to make some money online?
Would love to hear your thoughts. :)
