Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share a few photos of a foggy and rocky beach that we go to every now and then.

Foggy Beach Monochrome Monday

Getting back into writing some posts! I took some time off for our vacation and getting back into the swing of things. What better way than to get some posts written for Mono Chrome Monday?!

We spend a lot of time at a few beaches around us, and this one here has a fun little area for the kids. It works out pretty well because otherwise the beach is largely not a lot of fun, there are crazy rocks everywhere and it makes it challenging to do anything on it. There is some crab hunting but it's pretty far out into the surf that it becomes challenging to do it and get some good crabs. You usually just get pummeled by the waves since you are pretty far out lol and the crabs aren't that good.

I love when we go and there is some crazy fog like this! It looks so ominous and creepy but at the same time, intriguing. I absolutely love the way the black and white looks with the trees in the background there, it feels like it's a haunted novel or something. Especially because it's on the ocean that it gives it such a more intense and thought provoking feel to it in my opinion.

Turning pictures into black and white has been a favorite thing of mine for a while, because you can see something like this in color and it's certainly cool but it comes to a whole different layer of interesting when the vibrant colors are stripped away. For my black and white transitions, I do a little enhancement to it by just changing the algorithm that I use. I don't just do a traditional "desaturate" type thing, I adjust it so that it deepens some of the darkness to it and I think it comes out pretty darn cool!

I like how each of the different pictures brings some dramatic element to it, each one having it's own unique flavor. This one here for some reason I feel like I've turned a corner in a horror movie and there's something to my left that's going to jump out at me lol it sounds weird but I love how the different thoughts get invoked for these pictures! I know that may be stretching it a little bit, but I've read plenty of fiction novels and get lots of those images in my head for this stuff.

We didn't get to spend a lot of time in this area, it was pretty cold since we were visiting in the winter but I wanted to walk around a little bit more! I'll be sure to make it a point to check the area out again when I see fog in the forecast so I can figure out any other dramatic pictures to take :D

Mono makes those look like hundred year old shots! Those awkward little picnic tables and colour drained from the beach really make it look barren. Magical pics!

Thanks man! I think it was such a cool spot to take a few photos, it definitely looks like an intriguing place. Kind of feels like the Goonies LOL

I love these rocks on top of such places and it's a great pleasure to see natural things.

Indeed, the rocks are awesome! Thanks for stopping by friend!

Oh yes, it's an intriguing photo. It looks like the Black Pearl will emerge from the mist at any moment ^^

Haha yes for sure! It's certainly got the appearance of a pirate ship area!

I love pictures of fog but I never knew the black and white could look better
I love those mountains and the view is so lovely
That place must be very cold
Right?

Yeah it was certainly cold when we were there but it was in the end of wintertime so that's expected!

fog + monochrome makes good picture for a Horror movie;)
