Monomad Ruins and Trees
My Monochrome Monday entry this week is of the house ruins at Nymans National Trust property in Sussex, UK.
One of my favourite things about winter photography is the silhouettes the trees make without their foliage.
I love how this shot turned out when looking up to the sky above the ruins, through the trees.
This is also my entry to @brumest's monomad daily contest.

Thanks to @old-guy-photos for this fun initiative.
looks positively spooky...maybe even haunted. Nice monochrome @gillianpearce
Thanks @steven-patrick. I like this one a lot! 😊
That place looks like it would have been quite a home in its day. Those windows almost look like cathedral windows. Nicely photographed.
Yeah. I can't remember the history of it now @fotsdenada although there was a board with with some information on it. I can't even remember what sort of building it was but maybe it was the family Church as it is in the grounds of a big house.
I need to get into the habit of taking photographs of the information as well as the sights as I can never remember much once I'm home. it's probably on the web somewhere but I didn't have time last night to look for it. 😊
Haha, wel I know what you mean. When I lived in Spain, I took many photos of cstle ruins. I didn't even take a photo of the city name, so I have to guess what town they're in/near.
Maybe it's a sign of a good photographer. To be so engrossed in the art of the subject matter so as to not notice such insignificant details as to what it actually is. 😂
Nicely crafted shot! Well done! I really enjoyed how the photo takes my eyes through the photograph, and pushes me out towards the bottom right corner.
Thank you @michael14876. That's interesting that your eyes are drawn towards the bottom right corner, my go up and then down toward the bottom left. 😊
Woo, that's almost the perfect gloomy shot for the start of a horror movie. Love it!
Thank you @negativer.
I see what you mean but I thinking it was the moment before a beautiful sunrise shone through the windows. Hopeless romantic me. 😁
Beautiful photo!
Cool image Gillian, it looks kinda spooky but inviting too.
