Actually it is one of the top cities in terms Graffitis (check Kobra and Os Gemeos in case you dont know them) ...freaking awesome too!!!!!, (despite the fact that your chances to get robbed in a traffic light by a masked dude with a gun increase a bit too compared to berlin hahah) :P
I guess so. I would love to travel through Brazil, but safety would be clearly one huge concern of mine. In South America I have only been to Cuba, despite the poorness there I felt extremley safe. But that safety also had a shadow site to it, due to the military/police dominance and drastic punishments the people there, that atleast was my impression, were afraid of doing any harm to the tourists.
Surely, if one thinks of colors on the street Brazil comes to mind. The carneval, Rio etc. :). I will check your suggestions, sounds very interesting.
