This abandoned building, which looks like an ark, is the ruins of an Old Russian Orthodox church. The wooden church named after St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in 1881 in the village of Minka. The church existed for almost 50 years and was closed in the 30s of the last century — at that time, the closure of churches was a necessary condition for the anti-religious policy of the Soviet Union. After the Great Patriotic War, the church building was used as a village club, and since the 1990s it has been abandoned. I visited Minka in 2009 and have already talked about these places in a couple of my old posts.
