Monomad Photography Contest - Week #8 - Buildings -

in #monomad7 years ago (edited)

The topic for this week's Monomad Photography Contest

Buildings come in so many forms around the world,
and I am grateful to have seen many! hosted by @brumest is Buildings!

I thought I'd choose one to share that I took in India.

I especially love this picture as it is not only about the building, but the building of a building. Locally sources materials are used to construct these shelters.  You don't see big cement trucks roll up or huge trailer loads of manufactured or processed wood.  Much of the wood used here is reclaimed or hand-harvested, as is the basic structure on which they build.

It's always amazing to me how truly sustainable we could be in providing for our needs, yet most of us choose to deplete the earth's resources in the process.  As my insightful friend @quinneaker says--"humans are like parasites..."  I must say I would have to agree with that!

I'm grateful to join in these photography contests as I feel it is an incredible way for us to strengthen the Steemit community and to share our passions.

Thanks @brumest for another fun opportunity to share!

Blessings to all entrants, and
thanks for visiting my blog!

Has some good sustainable criteria for you, @quinneaker!

I do love sustainability~*~

One doesn't become the master of that without loving it!! Thanks for the example!

Eat your heart out Lowes and Home Depot. This is innovation at its finest.

Hell yeah!!! @deadpresident I couldn't agree with you more! And I'll bet none of these guys have been to or indebt for years and years of architect school! Sweet comment. Thanks!

Love it!

Thanks @brumest. I'm sure we'll see a lot of awesome buildings this week!

God created everything for man, so how can we say humans like parasites?

Created everything for man?.....to destroy and make worse by our presence, or to care for and enhance it for the well-being of all?

Thank you for sharing
