The museum is situated underground of the tower of light known as Independence Monument. This is the first underground museum in Bangladesh. Its underground terrace has a beautiful fountain at the centre, where water falls from over the ceiling, which further increases the attraction of the museum. The underground museum comprises of large numbers of photographs, which bear the historical significance. Terracotta, pictures and paper clippings of the war of liberation is on display at the museum. Copies of foreign newspapers and reports showing different events of war of liberation are also kept in the gallery. This is a wonderful place to witness and remember the struggle for independence of Bangladesh. The Independence Monument and Museum at the same place.
This is the Place/Ground where the Father of The Nation Bangobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had made the historic Speech for Struggle of Independence in March 1971 and Pakistani Forces surrendered in December 1971 within 9 months Bangladesh was born as an Independent Country.
