Ever since Magic Dice hit the scene, gambling dApps are coming out of the woodwork. This one is fairly simple but really fun.
It is called MoonSteem and the idea is you bet how high Steem will moon. The rounds are very quick and can last 1-10 seconds. Most of the time it moons from 1x to 10x, but in some cases, it has gone up as high as 7000x. The longer you hold out, the bigger the return, but at some point, it will stop and if you haven't cashed out before the drop you lose it all.
Right now you cannot deposit so you can only bet with the free 1000 Steemies you get for signing in. 1000 Steemies is equivalent to 0.001 Steem. So the game works with very big numbers and very small amounts. You won't get rich but it is a lot of fun.
Once you login to MoonSteem, any upvotes you give to the @moonsteem account will give you some additional Steemies to get started. This is a huge help as there is no way to load your bankroll as deposits are disabled.
If you refer someone to the game, you get a portion of the games profit and loss based on how much they spend.
The game has auto betting built-in and seems to work great.
One thing I like about the game is you can watch everyone's bet and see who goes for the moon.
A few rounds I was watching it mooned pretty high and you can see people cheering in the chat. One case I saw one user bet 35x (which means they would win around 32 times their bet) and it cut at 34.8x or something. Some people go for the big 30x or 100x bets, and some are just taking the small 1.2x-2x bets that are steady winners. Everyone feels like a high roller when you can easily bet thousands of Steemies as they are only worth 0.000001 Steem each.

Most everyone here seeded their account by voting on @moonsteem posts as everyone starts at 1,000 and that's the only way to get a bigger bankroll to work with.

The only thing I'm afraid of is that all these games are going to end up like the EOS games did... most of them had huge hype when they launched and after a few months they all died and no one was playing them, most of the ones that had airdrops and whatnot aren't around anymore!
From my basic knowledge of programming these games aren't that hard to do, most of them are quick cashgrabs and we should be concerned with that...
Yes, I agree, most people that play these either have too much money, too much time or have an addiction problem... I understand going to a casino because there is a sort of social aspect in it when one goes with friends, but in these games there is no social aspect, there is just pure gambling.
I can see some succeeding in the long run because some like to gamble every once in a while to satisfy their addiction, but if we get an influx of casino-like games in STEEM most will fail. There aren't enough gamblers for the amount of casino-like daps the crypto space has and is having.
But this is just my opinion of course, after seeing people on Bitmex gambling their money away without knowing anything at all about trading I'm more and more inclined to think this world is full of addicts.
