The Djemaa el Fna Square in Marrakech, Morocco is a space for watching and shopping. It was the nucleus of the neighborhoods built in the Almoravid era during the twelfth century AD around the famous Ibn Yusuf Mosque, but until this time it has remained full of facts, events and celebrations.
The arena was the center of radiation during the various ages, and reviewed the kings of that time armies and their battalions began the battles of unification and wars of sovereignty, and derived its name in the Saadi era of the courtyard of the largest mosque project in the neighborhood of Rawd Zaytoun next to the era of the Moroccan monarch in the sixteenth century AD.
The courtyard of Jemaa el-Fna is an incarnation on the definition. It is difficult to have an example. There is no such thing as an apron surrounded by shops, hotels, cafes and ditches. Its architecture is decorated with episodes of fuqaha, narrators, chauvinists, singers, dancers, astronomers, witches,
The scene continues in the courtyard of Djemaa el Fna all day and part of the night amidst the surprise of foreign tourists, which offers in the episodes of the strangeness of the acrobatics and comic and circus and magic, circling around the heroes and people pioneers, the atmosphere of enthusiasm applause and expressions of praise and the dregs of women.
The pioneers of the episodes of the citizens and foreign tourists, some of the drumming for the benefit of the ring man, whether monkeys or troupes or singers or snakes .... These people have no reward other than what enjoy the welfare of the spectators in exchange for good and blessings.
The visitors are invited to visit Marrakech to enjoy the beauty of Moroccan folklore. The square attracts millions of visitors every year and is considered one of the world's leading artists, filmmakers, painters, painters and photographers, as well as politicians, intellectuals, thinkers and heads of state.
The night of Djemaa el Fna Square shimmers with traditional lanterns that look from the rooftops of coffee shops overlooking the smoky grills of meat and sausages in popular outdoor restaurants that serve Moroccan cousins, couscous, basilata, pulses, fish, fries, chicken and Moroccan tajine.
In the early hours of the morning, there is a scene of choir rings and snipers who take advantage of the calm before the scene is filled with the noise and movement of the music and drums. The scene continues beyond midnight as a season of feasts or tribal brides. Eating mobile and upright outdoors.
Surrounding the square are popular historical markets with various goods from the traditional Moroccan industries such as carvings, leather products and the traditional dress of caftans, jalabab, zerabi and others. The visitor can shop around the scene, take his fruit needs and moisten with lemon juice in the carts.
The Djemaa el Fna Square, with all its constituencies, attracts the attention and admiration of all visitors from all over the world. I have asked more than one country in many countries about how to create similar squares in some of its cities, but it seems difficult. It is, as Juan Goitosolo, a Spanish writer based in Marrakesh and one of the admirers of the square, who had the privilege of recognizing UNESCO as a humane oral tradition, said that Jemaa el Fna Square could be removed by administrative decision but made by administrative decision.
