When they witnessed the magnificence of God, Israelites told Moses: "You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die." (Exo 20:19). They proclaimed him to be "the man of God".
Moses took it as the opportunity to give them laws that would help him to control them, ascribing those laws to the God people didn't want to listen to. He never forgot to prefix those laws with the phrase "Thus saith the LORD" and the people never failed to respond with "Amen!" OR "Hallelujah!"
Did the laws given by their "man of God" make Israelites a better people? The answer is an emphatic NO!
3-4 million Israelites had just one "Man of God" in Moses, today, every thousand Christians have dozens of "Men of God" who pretend to receive "revelations" from God. Christians volunteer to be controlled by such Moseses and chant "Amen!" and "Hallelujah!" to everything they utter. If the Moses of the Old Testament failed to make Israelites a better people, how do you imagine that the Moses, "the man of God" you appoint for yourself will make a difference?
God resides within you, you don't need a mediator to listen to God. You are the only Man of God you need to listen to.
Have a great weekend.
