What defines you?
I wonder what people see when they look into the mirror every morning. Or perhaps you have given up on taking the time to look at yourself. My question is: Does your biggest failure define you? .
The failures you suffer in life can grow like a wall around you. Every thought about it can be a brick of sorrow that you place around you and you create a mold from which it seems there is no escape. You give yourself this form, and day after day you sculpt it to redefine your failure. It becomes fundamental to your existence. The sad thing is, most of us do not know how to create this form with bricks of successes.
We all have hopes and dreams and sometimes our biggest hope turns out to be a crushing failure, the source of all fear and anxiety. It is an obstacle to one's progress. It is a challenge. Or it is your destination. You either overcome the challenge with all the strength that is left in you or you stay in the shadows of this failure. It doesn't require any energy to stay there, and rot, and die. But it will take everything to get on top of it. Just imagine the feeling you get when you've climbed to the top of a great mountain. If this is the feeling that awaits you in the next step, will you then just choose to surrender to a disappointment? Whatever you choose, you will succeed at doing it. You can stare at the disempowering mold around you or you can get out and liberate yourself.
Another year has come to an end. Another year, you have carried the burden of defeat and disappointments. Another year of living in a mold you built to represent your failures.
If you think you are walking with your failures everyday then perhaps it's time stop in your tracks. Take a moment to look at them. They have made you stronger than before. Kiss them goodbye. Swoosh your way out of your mold, and you will see it crumble and fall. You have the power to renew your life and live better. Let this new year be YOUR new beginning. But don't just change, do better, metamorphose, like a butterfly.
