Wow! This is tragedy first you were fired and then your wife having an affair all because you were too busy with the same work.
Well this is life for us, nothing lasts for ever either good or bad, make one mistake and you are fired or sacked, without considering what you have been able to achieve and have lost all because of your dedication to work.
Truly @prettyjules158 like you said "No is irreplaceable" but sometimes decisions like this could cost the organization as the victim could be hired by another company.
