Growing up I was brainwashed with the idea of college immediately after grade school and work immediately after college. Any other idea was considered inadequate and below what an average man could achieve. In fact, anyone that does not go to college or university was considered an epic failure in the community and would definitely amount to no good.
This was the mentality I grew up with and it stuck, really stuck. Every effort was put to making it to university, become an Engineer and becoming someone in life. I went to university though it was hard getting in and my perspective changed.
Not that earning a degree doesn’t make life easier and all that, in fact getting a degree is one major step in life to becoming successful due to the circumstances of our current century but the main key is to discover oneself and start solving problems that plagues our world today.
It is even common knowledge that most people that go to college and universities go there to just earn a degree and not learn what the degree is all about. Just like one of my professors would always say “Some people passed through school but the school didn’t pass through them”. Meaning that they spent the required years in the university but they did not learn anything. So true for most of the people in my department for they only read when exams are few days away and at the end they do the only things humanly possible cheat or “La cram La pour”. That is, they cram.
Back to my main point, after all this I now sat down and took a look around me and I saw that most of the people that went to universities and those that couldn’t lived almost the same life when they settle down. After using four years of your life in the university, one year serving your country, you still come back to work as a service person, why did you now go to study at the university in the first instance.
A guy that didn’t reach university at all still receives more money than you do at the end of the month, still employs you to work for him, to work towards HIS own vision, His own goal.
MY friend, why not open eyes and see the world clearly, you are in your 2nd, 3rd year in the university and you don’t have a plan for after school, no plan for the life you want to live when you go out there to the labor market, I’ll advice to start making those precious plans now, so as not to labor unnecessarily later.
Thanks to Steemit and what they’ve done in the life of students. It was thorough Steemit that I was introduced to the cryptocurrency market and I have to say it’s been wonderful. I really appreciate the people that introduced me to Steemit, they showed me true friendship by carrying me along.
Thanks for reading.
