Transcend by Feeling / Listen to your Inner Voice

in #motivation7 years ago (edited)

Many times in life I have come to a cross roads of decision. I would like to say I always went the direction that I FELT I was supposed to go. I haven't of course and I know many of you haven't either. I have found in life when I do go with that Feeling or Gut instinct, my direction seems to lead me in the right way. We are beautiful created beings that have the need and desire to create, love, nurture, help, and breath. Let me tell you my story...

Back in 1981 I vividly remember riding my bicycle. I had a black huffy, and as an 11 year old I loved that bike. One day I was riding through an open spot between the bushes between my yard and the neighbors. As I was going around 5 miles an hour I remember sensing a feeling. That "Feeling" told me to stop my bike or I was going to wreck. I quickly made a judgement call (the pathway was clear so how could I wreck?) so I drove through the bushes with assurance. As I was passing between the bushes a little root of a bush got caught up in my spokes of the front tire. I ended up falling on my face and wrecked my bike. That day changed my life forever. I began listening to the "feeling" or "voice" inside of my gut. This feeling has led me in many different avenues and places in life. Much of the time I had now idea why or where this feeling was leading me. I simply trusted that it was the right call.

Have you ever had a sense of urgency? An urgency like you better stop and wait a couple of seconds before going on your way? Is it possible this feeling is a warning to our very soul? Possibly this feeling is giving you warning about what is ahead and to take precautions.

When I was 20 and visiting my parents home in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, I decided to take a drive around their neighborhood. I drove about 1 mile away and found a new neighborhood going up. I drove through the back end of the new neighborhood and was utterly amazed at the enormous houses going up. The houses were absolutely beautiful. I was driving around that neighborhood with the music blaring and I sensed something wrong about it all. I stopped the car and sensed shame for wanting such a grand worldly pleasure.

I asked God to forgive me of wanting such a nice material thing in this World. I then heard a voice deep with in my soul. It was very clear. This feeling, or God's voice, I truly believe, said "It's ok, put your seat belt on". I then put my seat belt on and drove toward the entrance of the new neighborhood. I drove up a short hill and noticed construction by the road.

There was no stop sign, and no traffic light. As soon as I got to the top of the hill I found that I drove right into a 4 lane county highway with speeding cars coming right at me. I hit the gas pedal as hard as I could because the first 2 lanes cars were screeching to a halt. I then entered the next 2 lanes and found a large white pickup truck headed right at me.

The truck hit the back end of my car with an incredible force. I remember turning around and around in the car. All of the glass in the car shattered and flew all over me. My car came to a screeching halt. I remember one of my tires rolling down the street. I ended up having 2 bruises from that car accident. I had 1 bruise on my shoulder and 1 on my hip from my SEAT BELT holding me inside of the car. I listened to that feeling or voice, which ended up saving my life.

So, the next time you hear or sense a feeling or a voice speaking to you, you would be wise to take heed and listen. Something, or Someone may be trying to give you a warning of the cross roads ahead.

Exactly! I try to follow my inner voice all the time. The times I haven't it did not end well. That inner voice, my sixth sense, was given to me for a reason, so I use it.

Thanks for reply @cecicastor . There is definitely something to it all. Cheers.

This really hits home! I just finished taking a personality test here on steemit that told me I only ever follow a path of logic. After seeing the results I want to be more aware of the other paths. Then in my feed I see your story. Maybe it's a sign.
Thank you for the inspiring post!

That is very cool. There really is something to it all. I'm more of a logical guy myself, so I have to work on listening to that inner self. Good luck on your quest. Cheers.

@crowe - I liked your post - resteemed.

Really great article, thanks for sharing with us!

This feeling, God, or whatever simply said "It's ok, put your seat belt on". I then put my seat belt on

Thanks to god, you did it and you are alive now! That is very nice example of using seat belt and listening your inner voice!
All the best.

Chinese philosophy considered bowels to be a second brain - lower Dantian as they call it. By their teachings stomach is the master and brain just a servant.

In western mysticism, the stomach is Solar plexus, where Sol (the Sun) is a master above 6 other plexuses (nerve nodes).

very good words....

Intuition is a built in safety device of sorts...unfortunately, it often warns with such a soft voice, and we fail to hear...Regards @angryman

Very good point. I like that... "Just because you don't feel these 'aha moments' doesn't mean they are not there". Appreciate the comment @hussnain . Cheers.

Welcome. Thank you.
