Don't Ever Stop Dreaming
I was listening to an old Pharoahe Monch song last week when the lyrics to the song "D.R.E.A.M." hit me pretty hard. With all of the things in the world going on right now it is hard for some people to stay positive and goal oriented.
The first verse starts off:
Destiny Runs Everything Around Me...
Some people think that their destiny is already predetermined and that there is no reason to put effort into what you are doing. These are the same people that complain their whole lives about the hand that they were dealt. Your destiny is in your own hands and it is up to you to make your dreams come true.

I started on my dreams of being a photographer a few years ago when I quit law enforcement and I still have a LONG way to go to achieve my dreams. Mainly because I keep adding to them.
Steemit has given me the opportunity to dream even more about my future. Like the quote in the picture at the top of the post says, "Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep." This could not be more true to me. I have been so busy working lately that I have a hard time stopping to want to get some sleep.
I have had to force myself to stop working at the end of the day so that I can spend time with my family and go to sleep. This leads me into the second verse of the song:
my Determination Runs Every Aspect Mentally...
You really have to want to have success to achieve it. Sacrifices have to be made and that is usually sleep. One of my main goals it to be able to travel the world and photograph everywhere we go. So I am trying to do everything I can to set up mine and my wife's future.
Our goal once the kids graduate is to move to Thailand where it is a lot cheaper to live than here in the US. Once we are in Thailand, we will be able to travel to all of the countries that we have always wanted to visit. @faitherz33 wants to paint more and finish writing her book and I just want to photograph and make documentaries of our travels.
We will most likely bring the kids with us for a while so that they can see how awesome the world abroad is. My wife and I have a major end goal with this platform and that is to have an account that will be able to sustain our travels and allow us to do service work in orphanages in the communities that we visit. My daughter would love to be a part of visiting the orphanages and helping the children. When I was in Africa, the children their stole a piece of my heart and that was one of the major turning points in my life in terms of service to others.
In closing
When I heard the song by Pharoahe Monch last week and then started writing this post a few hours ago (ya it has taken a while because my mind has gone blank so many time), I had a direction, so hopefully this all made sense and not just a bunch of rambling words.

I guess the main takeaway from this post could be to never give up on yourself and that you are in control of your own destiny. If you are unhappy with the state of your life, make the change and do what you want, but you have to be passionate about what you do. Be like this flower, be unique and rise above everyone else.

Your life goals are amazing and I commend you for having them and working towards it as well. I have always thought you were a man with a strong, loving heart and soul and this just proves it. With your wife and kids by your side, I know this is something you will succeed with.
Cheers to you and your journey!
Thank you @foxyspirit. Without setting goals, we really don't have anything to look forward to in life and to push ourselves towards.
you have great dreams, hope you will fulfill them
Thank you
Your post fell on me at a very good time... I'm really grateful for this.
I know we don't know each other, but I really admire your work and I wish you all the luck and success on pursuing those beautiful plans you have for your family and yourself!
I'd like to send you and your wife a hug full of strenght, I hope it doesn't seem so strange to you :D
I really appreciate it. I am glad that this post had an impact on you. Thank you for your support.
I had a dream of buying property and "homesteading". I have started that dream and I am loving it. Like you I have a long way to go but the trip to get there is half the fun, because of the lessons you learn living that dream.
It is like a person think: "We are all going to die" but that does not matter. For me, the satisfaction of having fought for a dream is much more rewarding than the other thing in the world! ♥
Happy Sunday ♥
