I was in a gathering recently and while the preacher was preaching, I was dosing off (Don't laugh). I began to pinch myself to stay awake but it was not working. The brother seated beside me was wide awake. I had to tell him that he should 'tap' me when I dose off. He did it once and I later stayed awake. I could not decipher the reason why I was dosing.
Here is what I am trying to bring out: we will all need help at one point in our life except we want to deceive ourselves by behaving as super humans.
If I had pretend as though I was not dosing off and asked the brother to 'tap' me, I would have slept throughout the session and missed out on vital instructions. It doesn't matter how strong we may seem to be, we will need the strength or help of others at a point.
Jesus, who came in human form did not behave as though he was a superman. When he saw the enormity of what he was about to do on the cross, he had to cry out to God. The Bible says in Luke 22:43 "An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him."
Apostle Paul had to tell the believers in Rome " We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak..."Rom 15:1.
We must be cautious not to go about bragging about our spiritual strength and mocking the other believer that looks weak
"You could fall flat on your face as Sicily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God confidence."1Cor 10:12MSG.
Whether you are in the ministry, business, no matter your years of experience, you will always need the help of others. And whosoever has the capacity to help must also be willing to help.
"Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I help?"Rom 15:2MSG.
