Focus of thought must occasionally be self centered. Even the best of us can’t avoid being motivated by personal desire. The question is that of frequency. How much time and effort do we spend thinking about the wellbeing of others?
A cynic believes most people focus and act on their own self interest. They are generally suspicious of what motivates human behavior.
Honestly... it is difficult for me not to be cynical. I have become overwhelmed by public corruption.
I recently watched a video about criminal activity in the US government. The resulting question was ‘why’ would people live without any evidence of integrity. Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.
‘Honesty’ has become a situational ethic. There are few people who can speak the ‘plain truth’. Therefore, only partial disclosure is allowed.
The USA is ‘broke’. We can never repay our debts. These truths will never be disclosed by the office of the President.
Why do we expect our leaders to behave badly? Has everyone become a cynic?
Who lives a life dedicated to serving others without any regard for selfish motives? Don’t look at me! I am not Saint John.
I attempt to produce content that is beneficial to others. Observe...
Here is today’s beauty.
I join you as a cynic of government. When you have maybe 5 years of a balanced budget since WW II and currently they do not even think about coming close to balancing a budget I can only see corruption. Also how many public officials have become reach since taking office. The only word is corruption. Bring back the rule of law now.
@doctorjohn It happens with most of us,I too become overwhelmed by public corruption.Truly speaking,it is very difficult to survive with full honesty in this corrupt system. Thanks for sharing such beneficial blog.keep sharing.
