By taking action you automatically get more motivation. First decide whether you really want to do it. The ideal moment is today. Decide what you want and take the first step. Reward yourself for every effort. Only today counts. Do not worry about the long term.
How do you get more motivation?
How often do not you think: "I wish I had more motivation. Then at least something would happen! "Of course you get more motivation with more motivation and therefore more results. But ... otherwise it works just as well! You get more motivation through more action. They reinforce each other. You do not have to wait for more motivation. Just create it yourself - today!
Do not wait for the ideal moment.
Do not wait until someone else comes along to motivate you. What if that person never shows up? Do not wait for the ideal moment. What if that is only in 10 years? Motivate yourself, you are the only one who can do that. Nothing is as motivating as the knowledge that you are working to achieve your goals. Reach your goal and feel good !
If you have cleared away these three blocks, you will automatically get more motivation:
Motivation Killer 1: Guilt.
Nothing works so demotivating if you feel guilty because you did not do something. Just go over: if you think you should have done something yesterday and you did not do it, you're still in your stomach today: "You see, I can not. I'm too lazy. I should have done more! "So you are already 1-0 today, even before you have to start. There is only one way to prevent that from happening again tomorrow: by doing something today.
You should have done your administration or sending out application letters two weeks ago. But you did not do it. To feel guilty about that does not help. It only lowers your motivation. You can not feel well by taking yourself down. Do you want less motivation? Then stay focused on everything that you do wrong. Do you want more motivation? Reward yourself for everything that does you good. Everything! From minimal effort to the smallest step.
Do not feel guilty about what you did not do. Be happy with all your efforts!
Motivation killer 2: Do what you do not want.
The other motivation killer - except guilt - is doing something you do not really want. Let go of the thought that you can motivate yourself for a long time by doing something that you do not want. You can manage that for a week, with a lot of perseverance perhaps a year. "How can I motivate myself?" Is a good question in itself. But a better question is: "How can I determine what I really want?" Because if you find the answer to that, then you have automatically found your motivation.
Do you have to be motivated to do what you want? Oh no? You do not need that motivation. You seek motivation to do something you do not really want. What you (now) do not feel like. If you really wanted to, you would already be doing it, would not you? Have you ever heard anyone say: "Pfft, I have to go on holiday again this year"? Oh no? Doing what you want is the road to success .
Ask yourself if you really want to do this. Whether it really increases the quality of your life.
Motivation killer 3: The long term.
We are often overwhelmed by all the things that we still have to do. It is no problem to work on your goal for half an hour a day. But keep that up for a year! If you think of everything you have to do before you have to start, you do not get very excited about that idea. The toddler who realizes that the first day of school is the beginning of 15 years of learning and studying, probably reports ill, does not it?
This is the good news: there is no long term. With everything we want, we always have the chance to stop when it no longer feels right. Why would you continue? It is totally irrelevant whether you still like it in a year's time - you'll see that again. The point is that you feel good about it today. The future is the result of what you decide every day.
Make the right choice today. That's all you have to do.
