To develope ourself on whatever we do, we need first ask ourselves some vital questions.
How often do we ask ourselves with all honesty, " I am going to change from all my negative thinking and unproductive acts? Or we are going to engage more on things that will have lasting positive effect on our personal development. Like dieting, doing more of exercise, reading books, audio books etc.?
And suddenly to have all that enthusiasm fizzle away, and all our great plans come to nothing.
This occur or happens to us on this present world ( besides bacteria ) - the truth and regular desire for self development, followed by lack of action or giving into temptations, followed by giving up or surrender to what life throw at us. As Bridget Jones put it, writing her constant resolutions into her diary. "will definitely go to the gym this morning." Only to be followed a binge of pastries followed by smoking and drinking.
We all behave like Bridget Jones. It happens to most of us.
So what do we do to combat this temptations? Three basic steps, okay:
Keep on moving, a step at a time. Inactivity is bit only by activities. Once we started moving, momentum builds and inactivity become no issue. Therefore, the point is to get started, and we do achieve that not going from 0 to 100 in 10 seconds, but by moving from 0 to 10 mph in a matter of 24hrs or 48hrs. That is achievable and doable. It's all begins with a step. Once you get moving, you are super golden.
Take responsibility, Laziness, is another culprit, it can be defited by a little public pressure. We are all a lazy being from time immemorial, and there's nothing wrong with that. Laziness can be defited with little pressure, in form of responsibility and accountability. Pressure is the motivating factor, especially when it's definite. Definite pressure includes encouragement from friends and family, people in your neiborhood and community and may your online forums.
Ignore disappointment and failures: expirensing temptation is alright, we will always expirense temptation. Prepare for it, deal with it an move on. Beating yourself up is of no use.
Motivate yourself: In reality you really want it, feeling pressure to do something is not enough, you have to really want it. I said really want it, not just believe it's something you should do, or that you will become a better person for doing it. If pressure allow you move closer to your goal or dream, motivation should give you the key.
Motivate yourself. Most importantly, you want to really want it. It’s not enough to feel pressure to do something — you have to really want it. I mean, really want it, not just think it’s something you should do, or that you’ll be a better person for doing it. If pressure gives you the push toward your goal, motivation gives you the pull.
Given those strategies for beating the obstacles to making your desires become reality …
Remember if it can be concieved it can be achieved. Napoleon Hill. Think and grow rich.
