so you don't need to measure up your work or achievements with another person before you get fulfilled

I see myself agreeing 100% with your line of thoughts on this one. I noticed a lot of beef or envy if you may, for no reason. Even here on steemit, I hear the old tired song of unity. It would be a mirage if people still think their happiness is based on using other's progress or lack of, as a yardstick. I am 100% Nigerian; I have no camp. I try to do my own things my own way, and also not to please everybody as that is an impossible task. The only person I compete with is me. Yeah, I always try to be the best of me, to beat the yesterday's me. Not the next guy, I really do not use the next guy's accomplishment for anything.

People spend their time on things that do not matter, thinking up plots, scheming, when they could use the time to be a better them.

Keep steeming hard and see you in Greensville; where there are no shortage of greens :)
