Hello steemians you are welcome to the 30 days writing challenge by @dragosroua today's life hack is a mental health tip and it is surrounding yourself with the right people. 80% of the way we live our lives or do our stuff is based on the people we associate with, people have a huge impact on our lives, there is saying that "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are." The people we hang out with either lift us up or put us down, some friends are parasites all they do is suck out our happiness, energy, self-esteem and maybe some of your tangible resources as well.
Who are the right people?
These are the people that enrich our lives, inspire us to be better people, motivate us to achieve our goals basically they challenge us to be good at whatever we do and also add value to us.
My experience
When I had just got out of the university I landed on a good Job but the person I shared with the office hated the job with passion, Every single day she told me she does not want to work for the company anymore. Plainly I had lots of love for my work but in the end, her statements affected me too like I developed the hate for the work too, honestly, If you hang around people who don't like their jobs, you'll become like them
If you want to be financially successful, surround yourself with those who are financially successful. If you hang out with people who are broke, you'll never learn how people who aren't broke live their lives. If you want to improve your relationship with your spouse, surround yourself with people in successful relationships.
you are a product of your environment so surround yourself with the best

I've lost many relationship and let go of some due to various reasons.
When I was younger, I thought everyone I like should be my friend but life surely taught me the lessons you mentioned in this post itself.
It's not even about friendship alone - just in all aspect of our day to day relationship with people, we need to know and understand that we don't need everyone.
All we need are just people that really matter most to us and who we matter more to.
This has saved me a lot of pain after I got to understand this simple principle.
After-all, Titanic sank not because of the water outside of it but the got drowned and destroyed because of the water that got into her from a leak outside.
I don't wanna be a Titanic and I guide my spaces with all my time and power.

Very important, no sense spending time with people if not for business, love or friendship.
Yah some people want to see us in a messy life so better to surround your self with those that add value to you
