Sharing Your Soul
Be willing to bare your soul without reservation. We’ve all heard the story of a person looking for redemption or even just someone trying to figure it out. The thing is you should approach every posting as though it is just you and one of your friends having a conversation in a relaxed environment.
Major Key
Posts are fine and well, but comments and replies are where you build your following and relationships. Look at steemboard for any of your favorite steemians and this will give you a better look into what it takes. There are some people I’ve started going back and forth with and found myself looking forward to what they have to say next.
What's Your Perspective
Don’t try to pass off someone else’s work as your own as I see @cheetah at least five times in a day and it sucks for more than just your reputation. The person clicking on the article was hoping for your take on the matter, but they never got it.
Be Proud of "Your" Work At Every Step
Take pride in every word you write. If you just throw something together really quick, it shows. Also, when it comes to commenting and even writing, in general, apply what’s known as the carpenter’s rule of thumb, which is measure twice, cut once. Instead, here you should think twice and speak once.
Something To Avoid
Please don’t direct message people in on the chat or discord channels unless you’ve done your research and had an idea that person will enjoy it. If not it comes off just the same as being in the middle of the best meal ever, and someone pulls up a chair in an attempt to sell you car insurance when you can’t even drive. Also, if 5,000 people follow 5,000 people who are they really following because there would be too much chatter and people get nothing from it.
Even still, while it shouldn't have to be mentioned you should always have patience.
