I really like Edison. Interestinglyhe was part of why Hollywood began. He tried to ruthlessly enforce his patent on his moving picture camera on the street of New York and even had enforcement gangs roaming around.
So to avoid this issue other pioneers of moving pictures moved to Hollywood !
