You should read The Alchemist. That's the thing I would tell myself
Because when we are young, we make foolish decisions. We play safe. Because we think time is our friend. We desire for the wrong things. We make half-hearted choices. We desperately fear rejection. We tend to live the easy life and expect hard-earned rewards. We take too much for granted. We fail to understand that all choices, even the small ones, have consequence and even choosing not to choose has consequences.
“What’s the book again?”
The author describes in his anniversary edition (25 years) how The Alchemist sold only 1 copy in the first week. Can you believe that!!
The Alchemist has sold more then 65 million copies and translated into 80 different languages, a Guinness Record for most translated book by a living author.
No spoilers ahead
Plot: A poor shepherd boy named Santiago, decides to sell his flock to go questing across the Arabic dessert for a treasure supposedly located near the pyramids of Egypt. The boy then encounters a wise alchemist who also teaches him to realize his true self, about life and happiness and love and truth
The thing that I liked most about the novel:
There’s a difference between making a decision and taking action. I always thought the more mature I got the easier decision making would be. But that’s not true, the older you get the more things (money, children, job security) there are, the harder decisions become.
For my other motivation articles refer:
1.If you're a fighter look at these
2.You're allowed to scream, but not QUIT
I loved this book! I agree that the older you get the more difficult the decisions become! Great post :)
Thanks and glad you liked the book :)
