Top 5 Cognition Enhancing Supplements That Work

in #motivation7 years ago (edited)

Hey! whats up boss.

If you’re like many people with desk/computer jobs you might find yourself getting to work at 8 am still sleepy even with a double expresso in your system. Here you are, staring at your computer screen just trying to get a few seconds of your eyes closed and your brain resting when you’re sure as hell your manager/supervisor isn’t walking by.

Or maybe you’re studying some computer concepts for the first time ever and you think of that one Bradley Cooper movie where he takes the smart pill, sleeps with his landlord’s wife, and becomes super productive and think, “I wish such a thing existed..”

Well, though NZT 48 from Limitless isn’t real, there are supplements and legal over the counter drugs you can buy that will improve your morning routine, damn near get rid of that morning lull, and will make your mental cognition simply work better, which is especially important if you’re constantly expected to learn new things for your job. (If you’re a techie that definitely means you.)

I’ve been experimenting with legal supplements you can buy online and at GNC for years now and have tried a good amount of the ones I’ve seen recommended online (not the dark web…just the normal web)

Here I bring you a list of Supplements and Nootropics that I have used myself and recommend you try if you are adventurous and curious about hacking your brain. (Less dangerous than it sounds) All of these supplements have a large community online who will debate anyone who says they are either “dangerous for you” or “cheating”

Noopept

It is the most popular nootropic, which is defined as a class of cognitive enhancing supplements. (A mainstream example is caffeine) My own experiences and studies will tell you noopept is known to increase memory, cognition, and motivation. I can best describe noopept as a legal weaker Adderall. I remember on an occasion taking it, walking down the street and noticing even though I didn’t have my glasses or contacts in, things I would focus my eyes on would come out very clear, almost HD like. And I can definitely attest to it making me more wakeful in the morning. Nonetheless, this is a powerful supplement you can only buy online, so don’t expect it to be too noticeable, but also, with everything, don’t overdo it. (I think legally I have to say that, because there’s always that guy who thinks, “less doesn’t mean more, more means more…”)

Noopept is actually on the cheaper side, especially if you buy it not in capsules, but in powder form. But of course, you risk looking like a dealer and having cops mess with you.

Modafinil

is the drug that NZT-48 was based on from the movie Limitless. It is the most sought after Nootropic and is absolutely a pain to get your hands on. You actually need to get a prescription for it because though it acts as a performance-enhancing agent, it was originally designed as a drug to treat narcolepsy and sleep apnea, but along the line, people noticed that this magical drug did more than just that, it gave enhanced focus and laser concentration. For you to get this you need to purchase it from a retailer in India and pay in Bitcoin. Yes, sounds sketchy, I know. I did as much research on it and the reputable retailers as I could so that I didn’t get scammed and got my first fit into the world of bitcoin because of my experience buying this supplement. Modafinil did work, but it was just about the same effects as noopept just last a bit longer.

Optimind

This has to be my favorite nootropic supplement out of all of them. Though Noopept and Modafinil are more powerful than Optimind, what they spout on their website of getting clean clarity, focus, and wakefulness is no BS. Here’s text taken from the Optimind site about their product: We combine some of the best nootropics in the world with important vitamins for your brain.

And here’s a list of a few of their active ingredients and what it does:

Bacopa monnieri has been used in Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years. It may help improve verbal learning.

SerinAid® is a proprietary form of the phospholipid, phosphatidylserine. It’s extracted from the soybean plant.

Vinpocetine is a powerful nootropic that comes from periwinkle. It’s been used in traditional Eastern practices for centuries.

I’m more biased towards this supplement because they have a referral program and the others don’t and yah boy gotta eat.

You can go to their website and request a free trial (they send 10 pills to your house free, and shipping is free as well. Just make sure you cancel your membership before they charge your card in 2 weeks.) Caffeine + L- Theanine stack

You can literally buy Caffeine in pill format and save your money on a cup of coffee. And it goes great with another supplement called L- Theanine. One of the effects of L – Theanine is it balances out the jitteriness you would get when taking caffeine or drinking coffee because it has some of the same calming effects as you would get from green tea. It also has nootropic properties in it such as improving memory and enhancing the ability to learn, I really enjoyed the effects I got from this stack. And is not as costly as Modafinil or Optimind.

GoCubes

Gocubes is something I tried for the first time this weekend. It’s great! It basically coffee in the form of a large gummy cube. Thankfully it tastes more like candy than dark roast coffee. The aftertaste was definitely not enjoyable, but literally a few minutes after ingesting, you get a rush of energy that isn’t the same as if you were to be jittery on coffee. I only had 1/4th of 1 so I’m going to order a pack of 20 for $35 because I took it, know it works, and it definitely helped me with my Monday morning lull.

By the way, if you live in Chicago and you’re a friend of mine, text/facebook me and ask about one of these and I’ll let you try one for free if I have them at the moment. Thanks for reading! Comment your thoughts at the bottom 🙂

Some of them are truly great.

gooefy coffee cubes sound a bit grimey !! bet you they leave you feeling a bit like an old cup of coffee. you want a good brain hit. magnesium, zinc, vit c b 6 d3 & 5-htp ( L-hydroxytriptophan) make you feel like a teenager again and with the same kind of joviality too. may make you sleep like an angel but can lead to groggy patches in the day.. best taken at night !

Haha, I was hesitant also, but the effects were miraculous! And thank for the recommendation, ill try that out.

you might want to do some research. I am taking 5htp under medical advice and you can't take it if you are using SSRI's. I read a fascinating article recently about silicon valley coders taking various enhancers to get them through the day including modafinil. The guy writing said he cruised through the morning and got really into his work, so much so that he completely skipped lunch, but that when he got home he was all zombied out ! another trend apparently for concentration (and probably just entertainment) is micro-dosing with LSD. that seems a bit mad and could go horribly wrong. I'm sure slightly tripping is regular work day for a lot of creative people. strong bud smokers are mildly tripping and there's plenty of those people putting in long days on serious projects all over the world... day & night !
