Time managment

in #motivation7 years ago

We all have somedays where we just want to stop time, just so we can do some more things before we go to bed. I think a lot of persons have experienced this in their lives. I got to say, it is one of my greatest issues that I experience right now. The struggle that I have when I just have not enough time to do the things I had planned. Time management is crucial for the ones that are busy. In this post I will tell you how I manage and plan my time.

Busy, busy, busy

Everyday we need to wake up for work or for school, but in the meantime we also have things to do after work or after school. We wan't to learn things after school or after work. The problem is we do not plan anything in our mind or write something like a reminder to remember ourself what we wan't to do after work for example. When we get back home we already have some sort of panic because we want to do all those other things and you don't know how to fit everything in before you go to sleep. Believe me this was my problem for a long time. I was sometimes to busy to do things. Well that is actually what I thought.

Small portions

One of the first things I want to learn you, is do things in small portions. The problem with most people, is that they think they have not done enough and they need to do more than they have done already. I had this feeling for a long time. I can garantee that it is just not good to think that way, because you will never be satisfied. Set some goals everyday. Make them small goals that you need to do everyday.

An example of what I mean, is: "When I get home I am going to read 10 pages of .... book". Even if you think that 10 pages is not enough just let go of it, go on with the planning you have made. If your goal is reading 10 pages than read the 10 pages and let go of it. Concentrating on one thing is what you want to do. If you do not concentrate on one thing, before you know you will be doing things on your mobile and the 10 pages that you wanted to read will take a whole lot of time before you have finished it.

Let me tell you something that I have learned. The day that I did small portions everyday, in the longer run I even learned more. Crazy right. You know why that is? Our brains can also get tired. Image that you are sporting and you are going for a run. After 1 hour of running your body starts getting tired. Your brains can also get tired. Take small steps, but really do them daily. Also when you do small steps everyday your brain will also absorb more information than a brain that tries to learn the whole book or study something in 1 day.

Plan early

Do never plan things you want to do, the same day in the morning. You will be very messy. Before you go to bed, start thinking about what you want to achieve tommorow and what you want to do. If you do that you won't be messy. In the morning before you go to work or school, you are not able t0 think of a very good planning for the day. You may be in a hurry and you will end up in panic. Before you go to sleep, make a schedule.

There is also one thing, we as humans tend to do a lot of things. Remember that we are human and we can't do everything in one day. Make a planning where you plan for a whole week. When you do this you will have a clear mind everyday.

Planning is just very hard and I know that, but follow these simple steps to become more productive.
