No! I'm not yet done with my baseball streak because I watched, yet, another baseball anime. This time, I watched the anime called "One Outs". Allow me to explain what the title of this particular baseball anime means. That way, you'll also have a brief overview about this anime.

What is One Outs?
"One Outs" in this anime is a "gambling style" of baseball. Instead of playing baseball as a team, it is played individually. It becomes a battle between the pitcher and the batter. The audience would then bet as to who will succeed. If the batter hit the pitcher's pitch, he wins. In contrast, if the pitcher strikes out the batter, the pitcher wins.

The picture above is an example of One Outs Game. As you can see, there's the pitcher, the batter and the spectators.

The image above shows the "strike zone" in One Outs. This is very similar in real baseball, however, in "one outs" the box is illustrated on the wall, behind the batter.
Tell Me Something about the Anime

The anime started with playing "One Outs", until due to some circumstances, the main character called "Tokuchi Toua" was told to join and bring the team "Lycaons" to the championship. Tokuchi is a well-known gambler in Okinawa. Though he started playing baseball, his blood as a gambler is stronger, so he betted against the team owner for his salary. For every "out" he can perform, he's paid 5 million yen. On the other hand, he's going to pay 50 million yen if he is to allow a homerun.
Betting on every game made it more exciting. However, there's something in this anime that I really really really love about. It is his "PSYCHOLOGICAL PLAY". I guess, getting on your opponent's mental is common in gambling. And guess what, he used this tactic in baseball. I really love how witty he is. Although it's a bit "evil", but gahhh~!!! I love how Tokuchi thinks. I love how he can control people's mind to the benefit of his team. Ugh! I love this anime!
If you're into sports and psychological type of anime, "One Outs" is a must-watch! <3
Time for Some Motivation!
Watching anime isn't only an entertainment for me. It serves as a motivation and a lot of times, it has played an interesting role in my life. I always learn something from it and I want to share it to everyone. So here are some quotes I got from the anime.
"The fact that it has a low possibility means... It's not zero."
- This was said by Tokuchi Toua. Isn't it motivating? A lot of people tend to be discouraged when they learn about how low the possibility of something is. They tend to give up because they feel that their effort would be useless. But NO! Every effort is never useless! Let's look at the brighter side of things. Think about it...
Sometimes, it's really better to hang on that tiniest bit of hope left. That way, we wouldn't regret anything. It's like taking an entrance exam at your University of choice. Our mindset is that, "This University's standards is so high. It will be difficult for me to pass. I think I should give up and choose another." NO! Just take that exam and answer every question there is (even though you're not sure of the answer). In my experience, I tried taking the entrance exam of the University which is pretty well-known for the course that I wanted. I honestly didn't study for it. I used my "stocked-up" knowledge and my gut feeling. I tried... and succeed! What are the odds, right?
Never give up without even putting up a fight! Carpe Diem! Leave no regrets!!!
"What's the purpose of focusing on the past? The past data can't predict today's reality. The key to beating today's "Mariners" can only be found in today's "Mariners""
- This is another statement by Tokuchi Toua. "Mariners" by the way is the name of the opponent's team. I chose to share this quote because I believe this isn't only applicable in baseball, but also in life.
Sometimes, we are afraid to move forward because we are all tied up with our past. We're afraid to explore new things and take some risks because of our past experiences. Well, sometimes it can't be helped. We're all being swallowed by the shadow of our past. It's so difficult to get away from it. However, it's just difficult... but never impossible.
Time will come when you are to face everything head on. And on that very moment, don't focus on the past. As much as possible, leave all the negativities of the past and deal with the present. If you are to focus yourself in the present, this will be the key for you to have a better future.
Let's take for example... "a broken heart". Yes, it's very difficult for people who have gotten their hearts broken in the past to love again. They're scared that maybe they will experience yet another heartbreak. But think about it... The person who wants to love you now is entirely a different person from the one who hurt you. Wouldn't it be better to focus on that person at present than think about the person who hurt you? I guess it's much fairer for you and the person at present. Who knows? He or she might be the person you were always looking for. If you're too afraid because of the past, you might miss this chance! ;)
What do you think, Steemians? I hope this post of mine can somehow make you think of the direction you're about to take. Thank you so much for sparing some of your precious time to read this. Be happy and see you around!
