SPRING ALAS

Many at times we think that all is lost; we go through the winters of our lives. All our tries seems to be vainless efforts and our labors fail to yield forth positive fruits. The land upon which we sow proves futile irrespective of all the irrigation techniques and organic fertilizers we try. Nothing! Absolutely nothing seems to be working for us. We work overtime, put in our all, go beyond our comfort zones, fight to make it work, yet everything bounce back and slaps us severely in our face with sudden failure. We get broken! If it's a relationship we think all is over. We start crying over that partner and start thinking about the troubles of facing the emotional breakdown of breakups; sometimes a job, we get confused pondering how we will ever start over from trash most especially if a luxurious income is slipping out; occasionally a failure in academics or missing out on an international scholarship or conference you put so much time in applying for; worse, the sudden death of a love one that was so dear to your heart, you isolate yourself from the rest of the world and spend hours reminiscing the moments you both had and tears uncontrollable streak down your cheeks; for athletes, loss of a game you spend months and sleepless nights preparing for or a tragic breakdown in business or loss of property.
We think it's all over!!!!
But truth is winter don't last forever, same as what we go through. They're ephemeral problems. There's always a Spring to every winter; where life comes again and sunshine flow. Where the trees gain back its withered leaves and ice melt as rivers roll by again. The streets become lively and birds start to sing sweet melodies as burrowed animals run wild in the field. We don't need to give up, but rather keep steady and persistent as we await our Springs, when all will come to life again!
It is from such deep thought, I decided to share the below poetry with you:

Spring Alas!

Popping out
With odorous fragrance
Arrayed in rows of coloration
Are the roses
which decorate the fields

Budding out
On broken twigs
Reviving old damp stumps
Are the flowers
On withered trees

Sprouting out
Of frozen earth
Dotting the hills and country side
Are the Grasses
Which make green our surroundings

Breaking apart
Is winter's ice
And flowing again
Are long Springs rivers
Spring alas! Spring Alas!

Indeed it is Spring Alas!
