Journal of Zak Ludick #84 - And the winner is!...

in #motivation7 years ago (edited)

I am Zak Ludick and this is my journal and documentation of my progress with goals on and off Steemit.

So this weekend I sent in my Super easy Chocolate Fudge post in to compete in the Minnow Support Saturday competition and came out on top!

The prize? A delegation of 1000SP for a week! Woohoo!

I will be spreading around a lot more votes so I hope to use this to benefit my followers, commenters and people that I watch as much as possible.

This is a really great competition with the intention of raising post quality on Steemit. Though I would love to keep winning that SP delegation often as I can, I feel that it is just fair to promote this initiative by @valorforfreedom.

So in putting and passing this on forward it invites possible competition... well then that is good. If the purpose it to increase Post quality (of Steemians with under base 1000SP), then it is just right that we work on that somewhat competitively. It will turn our efforts into something better and more noteworthy for our futures on the platform.

Another thing I wanted to mention in my Journal today is this: It seems that everyone is talking or complaining... or not talking and just disappearing because of the value of STEEM/SBD.

For the last year there have been huge ups and then slowly but surely a comedown of the values of these cryptos. The high values caused a massive influx of new people onto this wonderful blockchain publishing platform. However the gradual dropping off of the "value" people began quitting their Steemit activity.

So has there been a loss of exchange value and yet we are still earning the same quantities of crypto anyway. That number should be increasing if we have continued to network and improve what we do... though it is a little difficult to do so when people are losing interest.

But what the hell are we doing here? Is earning the crypto the ONLY reason that you use Steemit? This is supposed to replace your other social media. Use it as a PLATFORM, for the things you love. You will discover people that do what you do or do what you like. You should bring other people to the platform. The by-product is that the upvotes gives you some crypto.

If you add value - IE Increase the quality of your posts - then there will be an actual reason for people to come and have a look at your content rather that just a huge jerk-tank of people who just click and pass your content.

Think on that... You tell me... Is Steemit a platform for you to do something? Or is it an empty, barren platform to you full of fakes and shitposting?

I am going to leave this list of items to work on here to remind myself:

Let's look at my account stats...

Well done, @zakludick! And well deserved. About why one is on Steemit: I was attracted because of income earning potential for my writing, yes, but because I've been on another blogging platform, I know it's as much about engaging with the community as it is about just putting stuff out there.

Indeed it is fiona. Despite what the platform offers, it's usually a dedicated soul that reaches there. How better to get there than to write, blog and share your passion?

Best of wishes and luck!

Congratulations man!
Your persistent work made it possible. Keep it going and use the 1000SP boost visely :P

Thanks dude! I will!

@zakludick congrats on the win. I was also contending for the prize but nice to see another Saffer got it at least. Enjoy the delegation and make the most of it, I sure would!

Thanks @gholsa! Where in SA are you from man?

Originally from Durban but have lived in JHB for the last 5 years.

Aha! I see. I am down in Cape Town. :D

On Tuesdays I like to eat meals like these paired with a IPA. Fridays are another story... evil laugh

I have no idea what you mean but OK.

congratulations!

Thanks man.
