Life, silver linings and rainbows, storms emotional roller coaster!
Storms make us linger, hoping to experience something spectacular after big electric storms pass over, summers in South Africa weather can turn around quickly from thirty degrees Celsius to twenty degrees in half an hour.
You hear the rumble of thunder out to sea, then notice the lightning strikes coming closer up the valley. Tumbling clouds start to fill the valleys, with wicked thunderous cracks of lighting striking the ground. Reminds me of this past year; with the grim reaper throwing chaos into our family, a government taking a country down the road of recession, some days it feels like everything is starting to fall apart at the seams....
Saturday we witnessed a grand design sunset after the first storm had passed over, a lull, still some rain approaching with small birds flying in the opposite direction as if to avoid the next round of mayhem, these photo's were captured over a maximum of thirty minutes before next deluge of heavy rain. On some occasions we may be able to dodge the bullet, not always, forcing us into the position of having to smile or frown then carry on, Yup "Put your big girl panties on," as my sister often refers to in life!
Mother nature teaches us life is not always easy, turning a sky from clear blue, to a trecherous deep grey, bringing along with it high winds being destructive to everything in it's path, similar events occur with people one minute life is peaceful, the next we are thrown in turmoil, it is how we right ourselves and how quickly we adapt.
Life is full of surprises, not always pleasant so here is to wishing you a wonderful new week, enjoy the last month of this year. Look for silver linings to reap the benefits of the storms, days after storms bring lush new life into nature, first we have to endure the storm, be the optimist finding your rainbow, life is one long roller coaster ride of emotions, slowly designing our unique tapestry of life.
Around the corner sky was still dull grey, promising a surprise with one or two gaps between the clouds being shunted around by the wind.
Sunset starting to dazzle the sky in gold not quite the silver lining metaphor used
Turmoil still happening above the sun setting, wind moving clouds around at high speed preparing for the next round....
Turning to get back inside just prior to the next load of rain fell, there was the rainbow on the otherside of the garden, ringing in the end of the day.

i certainly agree that life can be full of surprise and unexpectations. some days are bright and sunny, some are stormy and with thunder and lightning. sometimes even a dull sky still allows some things to stand out, like the trees in the pictures
Life comes packaged full of surprises, the trees stand tall after a rinse off from all the dust and dirt in the atmosphere @asianetwork thanks for visiting.

great read and lovely pictures! thanks for sharing :) have an awesome day
Have a good week @jsf thanks for visiting.
One thing we miss here is the thunder and the clap of lightning bolts Lady Joan. Nothing here, only silence since we arrived amidst much rain. Some beautiful pictures and eloquent words here! Blessings!
Lightning is sure to arrive one day, I don't know of any places where they are spared from the light show in the skies. We have been experiencing some big electric storms of late again, have a wonderful week Stephen.

Love the wording and my Granddad used to say "Life is rich tapestry". I wish I could appreciate being with him more but he was summoned to the next level 16 years ago now.
Some of those colours in the sky are amazing after the storm :)
That time of year again over here, huge electrical storms sweep through, if we lucky and it happens toward late afternoon we get some ultra dynamic skies. "Life is a tapestry" I agree some words echo in our ears even after many years pass, we never forget them, they have been stitched into that self same tapestry.
Wow they are quite spectacular then, ever changing skyline.
Yes words are very powerful indeed and can have a profound effect.

Just remember never to take shelter under trees, may trigger more than a click from a camera....
I find that the sky after the storm is the most beautiful.. and you showed us that it's true :) Thank you Joan! :)
We have experienced some exceptionally big late afternoon storms with dynamic skies afterwards.

I enjoy most weathers but I do not enjoy the wind if I am outside. Rain is brilliant when I'm indoors. And I pretty sure the moon affects my mood but I don't know how that's works.
I also don't enjoy the wind @ianstevenson we are entering summer months, some years encounter very bad electrical storms, not always pleasant, especially for the animals.
Amazing pics!!
Absolutely. Packages might become surprises or disasters as well.
Surprises around every corner, we learn to live with it.
yeah obviously that how it works for eveyone. Cool.
you are the best I love your publications continues to grow @joseleonardojose
Thanks for your kind words @jos3lider
we are good here with cold weather lol.
Being sub-tropical we don't really get cold, wrap up warm!
At the end the rainbow showing the beautiful colors: sign of peace and serenity, the victory in every circumstances in life!
People always view rainbows with happy thoughts, never heard a negative one ever.
La vida es una gama de situaciones que se van alternando como el clima en cada temporada, me gustaron las puestas de sol. saludos
We change like the weather @reyos making changes throughout our lives.
The sunset is an expirence one never forget, Life is such a great teacher to me and am still learning.
Always looking for better endings @nypho thanks for visiting
Great photos, you are always on point, thanks for this wonderful post. Please keep it up
Thanks for visiting @cryptocheta good to see you.
Great photography and excellent blog, thanks for sharing
Always a good reminder to find the joy in all seasons of life! Lovely photos. I love the rare chance to catch a rainbow like that. We didn't have any thunder and lightning, but Saturday of last week was a total washout with rain all day. Then Sunday came and it was a beautiful warm day with a cloudless blue sky! I know I appreciated it that much more after the dreary day before, which is often true of the best things in life.
Weather definitely influences our moods and plays with our emotions, sunny days normally mean jumping out of bed that little earlier with more plans than the dull grey days when we curl up and ignore the clock ticking @plantstoplanks
Storms, calm and politics - just when the darkness of globalism was creeping in, now the whole world is rising up to reject it as nationalism worldwide is on the rise.
People are fickle, really don't know what they want. Very few find comfort in their own skin, laying blame on the next. We create our own doom and gloom!
Wowee, you sure got a good one there, @joanstewart. I just posted my own odd one in our beloved @kryptonia too. We must be on the same wavelength.
I face north now, so my skys are very plain. I miss the sunsets, but now I am less distracted :)
Plan a walk at the end of the day, take a break in a park and enjoy those sunsets Sharon, life is too short to miss out on them.
Sunset, Rainbows and other natural and Happy Moments are precious and mind store these moments For Future
Best stored in memory, no camera can capture the sheer brilliance.
very nice photos. I adore sunset photographies. Sun is amazing, I love sun heat and I love sunsets view.
Sunset is normally a busy time of day, all the birds moving back to nesting areas, people hurrying home, a time to relax and watch the world go by.
For me one of the beautiful thing in life is to see the sunset i like it great photos!
Thanks for visiting and kind comment @me2017
Live life to its fullest. Enjoy every experiences life has to offer.
Every minute of every day offers something new.
Very beautiful photos.@joanstewart
Thank you @maonx
Love to sit on the back porch during and electrical storm and see the different form of lightning. I also notice must of nature rest and waits the storm out. Also the best part of the storm is the life giving water.
Watching electrical storms playing over the ocean was fun, with dogs around you find yourself locked up in doors consoling them.
Although the storms on the coast are pretty spectacular, nothing beats a good highveld thunder and lightning storm during summer.
Grew up with those @daved64 when you can smell the rain coming, see each flash then feel the ground rumbling...
Original! what a lovely post thanks for this. Lovely photos too

Hail is so nasty, thank goodness we don't see that often.
