So it was a weekend of two halves for Aaron Plessinger it seems. The Yamaha rider was fresh off the back of huge wins in Glendale and Oakland and the red plate was looking sold on his Factory 250 bike. He also announced that he is going to be a father and even decided to add the good news to his crash helmet :) things were going good for Plessinger.

However, that luck seemed to fizzle out somewhat as the day progressed into the Main Event and mistakes were made which has seen the AMA (American Motorcycling Association) officially penalize him for his actions.

While there has been no official statement from the AMA, the results sheet clearly show that Plessinger has been "penalised one position" in the Main Event from San Diago. So what went wrong i hear you ask? During a push forward early on in the race Plessinger made a mistake which saw him crash, in his haste to rejoin the race he cut part of the track. It was this action that brought about an instant one position penalty. This saw him credited with eighth in the Main and 15 points to carry forward.

This result makes things very interesting again in the 250 SX Supercross standings with Joey Savatgy only four points down from Plessinger and easily in striking distance. Things are heating up below them also with Shane McElrath and Adam Cianciarulo separated by only one point and only sixteen away from the top spot, exciting times ahead steemers!
