Ducati has a major focus for 2018 MotoGP season. They want the riders more easily tame desmosedici so it can compete with rivals.

It's no secret if Ducati have a fast but difficult motor controlled. Until now the Italian manufacturer was only once made the rider became world champion, he is Casey Stoner in the 2007 season.

After that, Ducati difficulty competing in the top even though Valentino Rossi has been strengthened for two seasons. It was only in the past season, Ducati can compete competitively when Andrea Dovizioso fighting for the title with Marc Marquez.

Unfortunately, six victories achieved by Dovizioso not enough to lead him to the championship because Marquez more consistent. Meanwhile, Jorge Lorenzo is also difficult in his first season and just finish in seventh position.

That's what Ducati doesn't want to happen again this season. Team management wants Dovizioso and Lorenzo to compete consistently in the top flight of the season.

For that reason Desmosedici GP18 made in such a way to stay fast but easier to drive by the rider.
"As you know, last season we had a competitive bike, six wins and competing for championship title until the last series," said Sporting Director of Ducati, Paolo Ciabatti.

"You know it's never going to be easy to make changes, but we're working hard to make good frames and machines this season, making motorcycles more easily controlled by riders," he said.

Ducati has at least shown it in the newly completed Sepang preseason test session. For three days, Ducati became the most impressive motor by putting Lorenzo in the top position and Dovizioso in fourth position.

Ducati will be testing the second pre-season midweek next month in Buriram, Thailand, then Losail, Qatar in early March before the first series race in the same place end of March.

"Feedback from Jorge and Andre after the test at Sepang is also very helpful to us and very positive.Where you see we are very constant in the leading position. Now we have a few days to test in Thailand."

"It was the first test there, at the Buriram circuit and there was also the first race in Thailand in October and after that there is another test in Qatar before the first series of the end of March," he concluded.
