A beautiful hill road stretches in front of me. The sun is out and it is a pure pleasure to ride under its light. Light, not heat, mind you. A gentle reverberating sound of my bike's engine counterparts the grand silence of nature but brings a tremendous joy which only a bike rider truly understands.
Riding in this time of the year requires winter gear. Temperatures are still above zero, meaning 5-10C/40-50F. If they reach zero Celsius, the ride stops completely for the season. The icy surface produces not so much of an enjoyable ride.
If you feel that the coldest part of your body is your nose, you're doing really fine. If it is your fingers or your toes, the usual problem in my case, it means that an additional pair of socks and warmer gloves would be a smart choice. There are also heated gloves available but isn't that an overkill? Hmm... Maybe not at all when I think about it. A valid option to be considered. A thick winter jumper folded in a backpack in case a night catch your efforts to reach the destination is always recommended. Night temperatures are often challenging.
However, if you have your winter riding jacket on, and two thinner layers underneath, as well as your winter riding pants (resembling skiing pants) and your leather cut buttoned-up over the jacket you'll be able to enjoy the ride up to around 60km/h.
Faster speeds create faster heat depletion by the means of wind propulsion. In other words, you'll freeze as if standing in a cold blowing wind. The sun helps but not so much if you are riding fast. When you start feeling that the cold is literary going through your body, it is a signal to ease up on the throttle. I also have a triple-fold Buff black bandana around my neck. Over the years, this proved to be an excellent neck protection.
On my feet, I wear high Dr.Martens. They are not the best there are out there but proved to be a good compromise between looking ridiculous when off the bike and being warm and dry while riding. Standard motorcycle boots make you look like a spaceman. Riding a cruiser, it would look ridiculous, anyway.
And the most important detail is, of course, stopping for coffee and feeling good. Both of these make you warm and let you focus on the surroundings. And what is a travel than being someplace and meeting someone?
Enjoy your day! :-)

@velimir Nice Post
Velimir congratulations. How good your work and the motivation you give us to be original. Many people do not handle the graphic part or do not have at hand images referring to what they want to publish maybe that's why they take pictures of other authors, but the important thing is that the information is original and arrives at the clear message of what we want to transmit and information .
Wow, that's really an inspirational article, blessed with wonderful pictures. Thank you for that.
motorcycles is a comfortable thing by which we travel

Hello @velimir Sir!
A famous proverb is written on the top of my Classroom:
" A sound body has a sound mind"
Yes, you rightly said if you have to wear gloves to avoid the winter then it is not a road trip of winter. Chilled weather is most loving weather for me ( Personal Choice) . Hot Liquids like Coffee and Tea makes any winter trip more lovely and memorable.
I remember Last month we ( Teachers and Students) decided to visit the coldest area of my country. The details you mentioned metaphorically or shared your experience brought all those scenes before my eyes.
I was not riding the bike on hill station but i had horse ride there with melodious local songs.
I do believe life is mortal but memories and love is immortal. Need of hour is to spread love among mass to bring the glob together on this very point.
Adventures and Road Trips kill the miseries and tensions of life. You're enjoying the life in true direction.
Lots of respect , affection and prayers for your great life & trips ahead
Happy New Year in Advance )))

Felicitaciones velimir.

Lol, I had to use almost all that clothes to walk around at 16°C. So i´m sure that if i move out my country to a coldest one, riding isn´t an option!
Motorcycle is freedom! Nice post 👌
It's great what you are doing the pictures are beautiful and well detailed.. Buh am kinda scared of motorcycles especially when on speed cos I have had accident twice now the last time was two weeks ago God saved me I didn't injure much so be careful man.
It takes a degree of dedication to ride in such cold weather! I really like the presence of flowers and grass in such a cold weather - somewhat surprising.
How did you achieve the purple hue on this lovely photos? It makes a nice effect, and did you take the first picture while riding? Curios about that 😁
it is well excellent image

Nice post. I too am a rider, most of my views are of the freeway though.
Starting to freeze just by reading... I used to ride in winter too and I remember more than one time when I had to "defreeze" my fingers on the exhaust. Getting a bit too old for this kind of adventure, even with the luxury of heated handlebar grips..
Really beautiful photos!!
Your travels look like such fun! I'm jealous.
