So the story goes, I wanted a project for the winter, after deciding to move forward I used the Dashub broker website. Overall my experience with Dashub is positive, although it may not be the lowest cost way of buying from a salvage auction it was very easy for a first time buyer. Dashub also helped me understand the whole process, which was quite reassuring. Also plan on the documentation to take 5-6 weeks from the time you win an auction to getting the salvage title. Remember Dashub and I assume all other companies in the auction business have to work with the various states DMV departments to pull this off. With Dashub you pay a fee for this documentation in addition to the auction fees from Dashub, the actual auction company fees and of course what you pay the cost of the motorbike. Overall its quite reasonable considering the time one would have to spend dealing with DMV if you even could.
So after about 5-6 days from the time I won the auction the Honda VFR800A I won arrived. This was a flood bike from Houston, Tx, due to rain, not sea storm surge (low salt content) very important in my decision. Visually the bike looked good, mostly stock, low mileage and at one point electrical even worked. Upon arrival from the shipping company, which kept me posted all along his travel and was at my house about +/- 5 minutes from his ETA.
I'll post the repairs needed on another day as there were several necessary to be road worthy.

follow for more.
Thanks, just getting into this, more to come.
Those are wicked cool and overlooked bikes. I'm always amazed by how cheap they sell for, even when they're in good shape.
