Last week I had the opportunity to see the premiere in my country, Colombia, of the movie The Circle.
With characters like Tom Hanks and Emma Watson sounded quite interesting.
The story has a context similar to what the great brother in the well-known book of Orwell, 1984, but with a touch less dark.
However, what is striking is that there are several elements that seem very closely copied from the real life of today's society; For example the charismatic Eamon Bailey played by Hanks, has a lot of air to Steve Jobs every time he went out to announce one of his new releases at Apple; The idea of controlling every detail of what people do, say or execute is very similar to what is currently doing Google with its robots and complicated algorithms, where more and more is noticed the lack of privacy in our lives, but there is no shortage Who says that it is a plus taking into account that makes our life more comfortable and we do not have to worry much about what we have to do daily.
Another detail that I found very interesting is the system called True You that basically controls everything that concerns your life on the network through a single password: mail accounts, social networks, payment systems and financial life, leisure, etc.
It is intriguing that True You has a high similarity with YouTube.
The rest of the film closely resembles what they did with The Truman Show which for the current case would be like a kind of reality in the extreme 24 hours of the day about what a human being does during his daily routine (not including To go to the bathroom so as not to make it profane and eschatological)
In conclusion, the film is entertaining, it is interesting, good photography and, in the end, the message is the most important given that for there inexorably seems to be directed the modern society.
Thank you for your time dedicated to this reading.
Thanks for the review. Despite all the controversial comments about this film I still want to watch it.
