Up

I'm going to talk here about a movie that I loved. It's funny, sad and at the same time endearing.

This is the story of Carl, a young boy who dreams of walking in the footsteps of his idol, the explorer Charles Muntz. When he meets Ellie, a budding young adventurer like him, they make a promise to one day install their cabin at the top of the Falls of Paradise, where Muntz has exiled. As the years go by, Carl and Ellie get married and still feed their dream of adventure, but the vagaries of life make their goal become more and more utopian. They are getting older and unfortunately, Ellie is prematurely taken away by an illness.

When he is 78 years old, widowed and about to be evicted from his home by contractors who do everything to intimidate him so that he leaves their land so that they can lead to their construction project . Exhausted from fighting his contractors and ready to be sent to a rest home in spite of himself, Carl decides to fulfill the promise he made to Ellie. He hangs thousands of balloons at his chimney and, before the entrepreneurs completely stunned by what they see, takes off in this unusual airship towards Venezuela and the famous paradisiacal falls. When he takes off he discovers that he is not alone, indeed, he discover that Russell is in his house. Russel is a talkative and somewhat bulky young scout who had already made several disturbing visits to Carl before ...

Up is a wonderful film, indeed, several themes are discussed, such as old age and death, which are rarely mentioned in children's animated films in general. There are some comical moments with the trio formed by Russell, Kevin (an exotic bird of great size, very fine, and with many colors), which is named by that name by Russell who takes affection for he. He running very fast and always escapes Doug, a Golden Retriever equipped with a technological collar, he can to speak as a human.

Dug meets Carl and Russell while his mission is to capture Kevin for his master. He will quickly become affectionate for the old man and the child.
When he finally finds Kevin, he does not capture him and they become friends. It's a very touching story

The incredible and real story of Up in Seattle

lahaut2.jpg

In the city of Seattle in the United States has lived a similar story. A woman who was there the heroine. Her name is Edith Macefield, and in 2006 she refused a million dollars for her home. She she did not want to sale her house for replaced it by a building like in the movie.

She and her house was surrounded by huge building like in the movie.

She had a sense of humor, one day she tied a bunch of balloon to the roof of her house as in the cartoon.

A year later, she dies, her home is then bequeathed to Barry Martin, a construction site manager who is involved in the construction encircling his house. The man and the woman have woven a beautiful story of friendship during the works. Barry made sure that Edith Macefield's house was kept after her death, so that she could live her beliefs and stay faithful to her friend.

Barry Martin even took care of Edith during her illness.

This is such a good movie! I never knew about what you shared at the end about Edith and Barry. That makes it even more special. Thank you for sharing about such a positive movie :)

I loved this movie, it's one of Pixar's best! It was titled simply "Up" in the states. Thanks for posting your thoughts on it.

Nice movie
thanks for sharing

Thank you @lndesta120282! Pixar has become the most dependable studio out there for producing reliable films that don't simply continue to raise the bar in animation but set a level of excellence in storytelling that puts most live-action movies to shame. 'Up' represents another change in style, as significant as Wall-E's shift to photorealism, intricate camera effects and darker themes. It effectively blends moments of tragedy with almost slapstick humor, while showing that their understanding of story structure and pacing gets more refined with every release.

I love airships, so would like to see this movie :)!

You have to watch it 😊
