I absolutely love Makoto Shinkai, particularly 5 Centimetres Per Second and The Garden of Words (which, for its short length, is just as beautiful in terms of visuals and story—it made my cry, which is always a plus). I've been meaning to watch Your Name for quite a while, but for some reason it just slipped my mind.
Speaking of anime films, I highly recommend The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which also makes me cry every time I watch it.
